This album is an experiment in trying something new. While my previous album, Sensory Entanglement is what I perceive to be a hard hitting rock album, much like Wrong Datum, I wanted to diversify, and break away from the pattern set my my two previous tonally similar albums. I have always loved artists who have blended different genres, so I wanted to indulge in the diversity of my music tastes. (Gorillaz was my first favourite band after all.) I sought out to blend 80s synth pop and new wave influences and various elements of indie electronica, with the alternative rock that I frequent. The results of this concerted effort is Pipes On the Inside; The most adventurous Teenage Art Scene album yet.

Many Teenage Art Scene albums are an experiment in some way. No different, Pipes On the Inside is an experiment to see whether I could make a quality album that did not sound like anything I had done before, yet stayed true to the essence of Teenage Art Scene. I am very proud of the end result, but I do not have the authority to determine the outcome of this experiment. The outcome of this experiment is determined by the creatively unbiased listener.
